Noticed the town I work in has garbage trucks in which the driver stands instead of sits. Kind of like the one below.

I think I’ve seen a fold out seat against the back wall of trucks like that. It’s more about in our quickness to get the bins. There is also a steering wheel and pedals on other side.

As someone who worked on a garbage truck when I was younger I can say this is probably better than a seat. The seats in both our trucks were REALLY high and the driver had to have a pretty damn good reason to clamber down to help me on the back. A nice low cab with a very short step to the ground would have been great.
